I captured this from a neighborhood near Dodger stadium. The downtown core is only about 1.5 miles away which makes capturing a gigapixel image easier.

The last night I was in New Orleans there was fair weather. So, I headed out just before twilight and captured some images. I had a bit of a run in with a street hustler and dropped my mobile phone just before trying to exit the scene in a taxi. Fortunately the taxi driver who is from Jordan was very helpful and went with me to go back and get my phone. I was very lucky in that the hustler did not expect me and was arguing with security at a hotel. Just then he pulled my mobile from his pocket and I stepped in to claim my phone. I had to deal with him and his friend for a while and stepped into a bar with the taxi driver for a while to shake him. The rest of the people in New Orleans were very nice and my host insisted that I enjoy the prerequisite poor boy sandwich, gumbo soup, and fried eggplant.

You can probably recognize the following buildings in the gigapixel panorama listed from left to right.   The empire state building,  United Nations building,  and the Chrysler building.  I had been photographing for a day and half and needed to return to Dave and Molly’s for some good rest. I was kaput

There is only so much time to capture the images that you want. I was planning to capture the Chrysler building after this shot, but I enjoyed some conversation with a few people who were interested in the equipment that I was using. I believe I captured photographs for a day and a half without stopping before my aching legs told me I that I needed to return for some rest.

I just had learned why you should obtain an optional permit while attempting to photograph the NYSE area. No one bothered me while I was photographing the world trade center construction site. It would have been nice to obtain access to an elevated position to photograph this.

After leaving New York city, I traveled to Boston. I captured a gigapixel panorama from the Massachusetts avenue bridge near MIT and then another panorama further north at twilight. You can see the panorama that was taken during the day by opening opening the google map in the panorama viewer and clicking on the icon that is on the Massachusetts avenue bridge.
