You can probably recognize the following buildings in the gigapixel panorama listed from left to right. The empire state building, United Nations building, and the Chrysler building. I had been photographing for a day and half and needed to return to Dave and Molly’s for some good rest. I was kaput

There is only so much time to capture the images that you want. I was planning to capture the Chrysler building after this shot, but I enjoyed some conversation with a few people who were interested in the equipment that I was using. I believe I captured photographs for a day and a half without stopping before my aching legs told me I that I needed to return for some rest.

I just had learned why you should obtain an optional permit while attempting to photograph the NYSE area. No one bothered me while I was photographing the world trade center construction site. It would have been nice to obtain access to an elevated position to photograph this.

After leaving New York city, I traveled to Boston. I captured a gigapixel panorama from the Massachusetts avenue bridge near MIT and then another panorama further north at twilight. You can see the panorama that was taken during the day by opening opening the google map in the panorama viewer and clicking on the icon that is on the Massachusetts avenue bridge.

I captured this image of the Capitol building in Washington DC on a one day side trip from Pittsburgh, Pa. I rode the Mark train from Greenbelt station in Maryland so that I would arrive just before sunrise. It was amazing to see so many people hustling to depart union station in order to arrive at work before 0730. A gentleman who works at the justice department who rides the Mark train often, explained that if government employees arrive before 0730 they will be able to depart work earlier at 1530 on a much less crowded train. I spent most of my second day waiting at the airport after having three flights canceled. On the second day I was able to depart at eight in the morning. That is a new record for me.

I highly recommend hiking the Boynton canyon trail at night under the stars and moon. It is absolutely magical and soothes your soul.
